Thomas Jefferson was an American statesman, representative, legal counselor, planner, scholar, and Founding Father who served in as the third leader of the United States. He served in as the second Vice President of the United States from 1797 to 1801.
During the American Revolution, he
represented Virginia in the Continental Congress that received the Declaration,
drafted the law for strict opportunity as a Virginia administrator, and served
as the second Governor of Virginia from 1779 to 1781, during the American
Revolutionary War. With Madison, he secretly composed the provocative Kentucky
and Virginia Resolutions in 1798 and 1799, which tried to strengthen states'
privileges by invalidating the government Alien and Sedition Acts.
As president, Jefferson sought after
the country's transportation and exchange interests against Barbary privateers
and forceful British exchange approaches. He additionally composed the
Louisiana Purchase, nearly multiplying the nation's domain.
